Ancient Greek Archers

What do a bow, an arrow, and a youth exchange project have in common? Precision and Focus. At JAE Academy, we have transformed the ancient practice of archery into a cutting-edge tool for non-formal education and emotional well-being.


Located just a few kilometers from the birthplace of the Olympic Games, at our Eco-Campus in Amaliada (Greece), archery is far more than a sport: it is a vital life lesson for Generation Z.


Why Archery is the Star Activity for Our Erasmus+ Groups

In our KA1 and Solidarity projects, we aim for young people to develop skills that textbooks simply cannot teach. Archery practice at our specialized Sport Complex offers unique benefits:


  • Stress Management & Mental Health: In a world of digital distractions, drawing a bowstring requires absolute concentration. It is the perfect mindfulness tool to combat anxiety and improve mental resilience.

  • Inclusion & Equity: Archery is a universal language. Regardless of language barriers or physical condition, all participants compete on equal terms under the Mediterranean sun.

  • Connection with History: Practicing near Ancient Olympia connects students with the classical values of self-improvement and the Olympic Truce (Ekecheiria).


A "Safe Haven" for Outdoor Learning

Our private campus features a fully fenced and secure archery zone, ideal for school groups (KA121/122) and youth organizations. While the JAE Academy and European Union flags fly over our courts, participants enjoy an immersive experience that combines:


  1. Physical and Technical Training: Professional coaching in a safe environment.

  2. Virtual Reality (VR) Workshops: Using technology to analyze shooting posture and explore historical contexts.

  3. Outdoor Debriefings: Reflective group sessions to build leadership and teamwork skills.
